La maison de Marican is a late 18th century manor house in the Tarn region of South West France, formally on the estate of a wealthy Mazametien family it has been fully renovated and is now a family run guest house offering comfortable and welcoming Bed and Breakfast rooms, delicious evening meals and two self contained Self Catering Gites. 

The property located on 7 acres of elevated south facing private parklands and gardens enjoys stunning views over the Montagne Noire and the Mazamet Valley, a tranquil peace of heaven for those wishing to escape to rural France yet an ideal location from which to tour the area or partake in the many outdoor activities available in the immediate locality.

The walled garden to the rear of the property with 20 x 8 meter swimming pool, patio and sun loungers is available to all our guests as is a play area to the font for our younger guests.  In the parklands you will find many shaded spots under the centuries old specimen trees or beside the original feature fish pond where you can read, paint or simply sit back relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the countryside, truly a haven for nature lovers and bird watchers

Marican is on the fringe of the national park of the haut Languedoc with many graded and signed forest walks in the area, two have their starting point from our back gate.  Horse riding, mountain biking, fishing and water sports are all popular and possible in the immediate area.  For the golf enthusiasts we have La Barouge 18 hole golf course just 5 minutes drive from the house, over 100 varieties of trees extending the length of its fairways it appeals and caters to all levels of golfer.

While we enjoy a rural tranquil location it is not remote, the nearest town Mazamet with a full range of shop and supermarkets and twice weekly market is just 10 kms from the property ,the nearest Boulangerie is in the nearby village of St Baudille.
 
Located  48 kms north of Carcassonne aiport and the famed medieval Cite of Carcassonne with flights daily from London Stansted, Liverpool and East Midlands in the UK, Dublin and Shannon airports in Ireland and Charleoi in Belgium and within 80 kms of Toulouse it is an easy commute to your holiday destination.
